French Vintage Prints

French vintage prints from designs of the early 1900s. Often risqué in nature these illustrations from publications such as La Vie Parisienne were popular amongst allied troops, widening their audience to the US and UK. Founded in January 1863, the weekly illustrated paper La Vie Parisienne celebrated fashion, theatre, music, travel and topical events. Contributors often wrote and illustrated under pseudonyms, detailing the Parisienne lady; the vixen, the siren, the exhibitionist, the temptress.
